The city-based Navya Nataka Samiti is conducting its 37th all-India competitions in music and dance-2004 for the Niranjan Shaw Rolling Trophies from February 1 to 8 at Sundarayya Kala Nilayam, Bagh Lingampalli, here. Competitions will be conducted in Carnatic and Hindustani music and in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Andhra and Kathak dances. Trophies named after Niranjan Shaw, who as the YMCA secretary had done pioneering work in the 40s to propagate fine arts, would be awarded to the first prize winners in the senior section. Free hospitality would be provided to all outstation participants, according to general secretary of the samiti, V. Vijaya Kumar.
